Aurél Bernáth was aKossuth- and Munkácsy Prize-winning painter and art teacher. János Koltai is a Jászai Mari Award-winning actor, set designer and painter. Their shared exhibition in Ábrahámhegy's Bernáth Aurél Gallery is open from 27 June to 26 July.
Aurél Bernáth studied painting in Nagybánya and went on to live in Vienna and Berlin. In this period, he mostly painted in Expressionist and Abstract style. His return home also marked his return to the traditions of the Nagybánya school and painted Impressionist pieces. He was best known for his poetic and philosophical works of unique colour use.
