Very few community spaces have been designed and built for this specific purpose, and despite its long existence, the Arácsi Folk House is one of these rare specimens. The life of the local community was so busy even at the start of the 20th century that the town had a separate “folk house” built in 1914. The plan of the founding fathers almost fell through on several occasions: following unsuccessful attempts to convert the building into a hospital, an outpatient clinic and an office building, the house was eventually returned to the people of Füred. Along with permanent and temporary exhibitions, it often hosts art, music and various other types of events.
