Fine coffee, homemade syrups, and cakes, South Balaton wines and pálinkas, and an award-winning panorama are what the freshly opened Völgyhíd Kávézó offers. The daily changing view of the largest bridge of Hungary is in itself worth a few-minute detour from M7, but the café at the foot of the viaduct is also a good reason to take a short road trip if you are staying in the area.
Völgyhíd Kávézó is located 50 meters away from the roundabout at the end of Exit 121 of M7 towards Bálványos and Balatonföldvár. Stepping out on the terrace, you can admire the view of the entire bridge as it unfolds in front of your eyes – a marvelous and unique sight indeed. The colorful groups of horses and sheep grazing in the green valley (that leads to Kereki Castle) combined with the industrial look of the monumental Viaduct makes for an exciting, yet peaceful scene. Recommended for any day in any season, as the pleasure is guaranteed irrespective of whether it's the rays of the setting sun that paint the 1872-meter long construction gold or the shroud of mist that conceals the 80-meter high pillars.
