Located on Kövess Hill, this Csörnyeföld winery is right next to the tripoint of Austria, Slovenia, and Hungary. The cellar was founded by the late Dr. László Bussay, who was a recipient of the Borászok Borászaaward (an award for the best winemakers, awarded by winemakers); his daughters, Dóri and Bianka took over the winery from him, they are the ones who now tend to the family’s 5.5 hectaresestate. Their wines are extremely concentrated, full bodied, and have a high acidity, even if they are from a weaker vintage. Naturally, one has to be mature enough for these kinds of wines, so we definitely wouldn’t recommend them for beginners. It’s good to have something to eat with these wines; for example, a 2015 Bussay Welschriesling goes well with a more serious pork or lamb roast.
Tip: There’re three types of wine tastings here. We can also order an abundant plate of savory snacks, which they assemble from seasonal vegetables, homemade ham, salami, and pain paillasse (artisanal bread).
