Géza Légli did not want to be a wine maker, his brother Ottó put the name Légli to the wine map and was quite successful at that. This was the situation of which Kislaki Wine Manufacture emerged. The artisanal winery in the southern part of Balaton makes great wines without the cold and impersonal character of big wineries and the snubbery of some wine experts. Géza Légli--who by the way looks more like a golf player than a wine maker--has the same friendly character. You can't get the wines of Kislaki Winery in the big supermarkets. The best way to try them is to go to Szőlőskislak (a part of Balatonboglár), where you'll find theKislaki Borkert (Kislaki Wine Garden) at the edge of the town. Fast forward to wine tasting and buying. Géza Légli organizes an open picnic in Kislaki Borkert every fall and spring. At first glance, it appears to be a family garden party without the uncles who are trying to get you to drink the worst pálinka of your life. Instead, there are guest wine makers, amusing activities for children, guest restaurants with special dishes, and the host who likes to socialize with the guests.
