Bence Laposa and his family belong among the upcoming wineries of huge aspirations: the young winemaker has his mind set on making Badacsony an internationally acclaimed wine region. He is honest, determined and conscious, exactly like the wines he puts on your table. The winery's terrace is situated in a magnificent spot from where you can survey all of your surroundings. The design and the furniture are simple, the flavours are carefully measured.
The winery uses the best grapes of the volcanic inlier hills. This wine region mostly produces white wines, and Laposa Winery is no exception. They make 40 000 bottles of wine each year, with Welschriesling, Riesling, Pinot gris, Kéknyelű, Juhfark, Yellow Muscat, Furmint and Hárslevelű being the major characters.
Bence Laposa and the Badacsonyi Kör (union of the local wine makers) are always up to something: a Kéknyelű grape harvest, wine weeks, or a harvest show on a boat. But sometimes they cook "halderelye" together if they are in the mood for that. You should know one small secret: the wines of Laposa Winery are found under the name Bazaltbor in wine stores.
