Caving in Balatonfüred and Balatonederics

The forecast promises sunny weather for this weekend, so we'd recommend outdoor recreation, but this is the last weekend that you can visit three caves around Lake Balaton at a discount price. In the Balaton Uplands National Park, you can join guided tours on occassion of the month of caves in the Lóczy Cave (Balatonfüred), the Csodabogyós Cave (Balatonederics) and the Szentgáli-kőlik (in the Bakony) at a discount price (adults – 500 HUF/person, children – 400 HUF/person). You can visit the Lóczy Cave on Friday, the Csodabogyós Cave on Saturday, and the Szentgáli-kőlik on Friday and Sunday.

Medieval tournaments and dinner in Sümeg

The Sümeg Castle has long been known for its medieval tournaments. The programmes of the Historical Equestrian Tournaments - Medieval Feasts series is opened by a Spanish Riding School's festive carousel, but the historical, swordfighting knights' tournament is also on the menu. The evening ends with a medieval feast. The programmes begin at 17:00 on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Ramsons: Pick it yourlself! 

The season for picking one of the trendiest spring plants, the ramson begins now. Horror stories featuring the poisonous leaves of the Lily of the Valley are returning every year, but picking ransom does neither require in-depth botanical knowledge, not extreme equipment. Be on the safe side and read our post aimed at newby ramson hunters! Several restaurants offer seasonal specials prepared with ramson now, so be sure to check the weekly and monthly offers.

Villa Tolnay wine dinner

This week, the Badacsony Wineventure stops at Gyulakeszi. The Villa Tolnay Winery awaits guests with salmon wrapped in Serrano ham, a spicy oriental mushroom soup, a duck steak, apple cake and the kitchen's surprise. The wine dinner starts at 18:00 on Saturday and costs 7500 HUF, which, of course, includes the six types of wine served during the dinner.

Musical massage in Kredenc

The Kredenc Wine Bistro of Balatonfüred is, now that spring has arrived, open from Thursday to Sunday. On Friday, the Soul Massage Sound System will perform the favbourite chansons of the place; while the Saturday night party relies on jazzy beats. The Sunday chillout atmosphere will be created with the help of András Dobai's Loosen Up Lounge selection.
