Mysterious Collection

On display until 25 August, this collection of coins and jewellery was found in the basement of a house in Keszthely. The story it revealed is a tragic one and you can learn more about it at the Balaton Museum.

Resident Art GARTEN

This exhibition in Lovas, on Lake Balaton’s north shore, displays works by lesser-known contemporary artists. There are accompanying events as well, including the screenings of animated movies and documentaries.

Paloznak Jazz Picnic

Paloznak Jazz Picnic is the cosiest festival at Lake Balaton and this year’s line-up brings names such as The Jacksons and Rick Astley to the vineyards of Paloznak.

Balatonfüred Wine Weeks

The Tagore Promenade in Balatonfüred will be buzzing until the beginning of September. Balatonfüred Wine Weeks brings local wineries to town, and you can sample as well as purchase all kinds of varieties.

Stargazing in Eplény

The arrival of the Perseids meteor shower is always a highlight in August, and now you can get closer to the stars in Eplény, Balaton’s ski centre, which should offer a stellar view.

Strand Festival

The Strand Festival is known for ending summer with a bang by the shore of Lake Balaton. This year, the Zamárdi festival includes John Newman, Bastille, Steve Aoki, Modestep, Sigma, Ofenbach and Anne-Marie.
