Sunset on Balaton is real Hallmark-card cliché, but we have no problem with that. The lake has much to offer when it comes to romance. The first kiss, the proposal, the change of Facebook status can all happen at these romantic spots. Love is in the air!

Szentháromság Kápolna – Szigliget
When we were here the almond flowers were in full bloom, but we have a feeling that the chapel's small hill is always a perfect lookout point, irrespective of bloom. Each side of Rókarántó hill has great spots where you can sit down and just admire the landscape. This chapel is a 170-year-old pilgrimage site. The locals simply call it Kiskápolna (means: Small Chapel), and apart from one mass every year only weddings and baptism ceremonies are held here. Quite romantic, isn't it?
Extra romantic factor: Bringing some cold wine from Szent Antal Pince nearby.

Margit kilátó – Cserszegtomaj
Even the history of Margit-kilátó is all about love. Once upon a time, Jenő Horváth decided to build a lookout tower next to the arboretum, for her wife, Margit. It's quite unusual to put an elevator into a lookout tower, but according to the locals Margit's husband didn't want his beloved wife to climb hundreds of stairs to reach the top of the 31-meter tall building.
Extra romantic factor: The amazing panorama gives the guys a great chance for a manly flashing of their expertise in geography. Even the fundamentals could be enough here: while you're holding the girl close to you, just show her the Keszthelyi-öböl, the Bakony or something else.

Szent Donát Manor
Restaurants can either offer some brilliant gastro experience, or they have amazing view. In Szent Donát the view of Balaton is so spectacular, you won't even realize that you've finished your meal. This extraordinary place on the North Shore offers a breathtaking view of Kerekedi-öböl (its natural values are protected by law), Csopak and the vineyards.
Extra romantic factor: If you can't borrow one of Carlos Sainz's vehicles, then climbing uphill will bring you closer to each other.

Guruljon az élet biciklis megálló – Kerekedi-öböl
It is always nice and cosy when a married couple is running a place together. The owners of Guruljon az élet moved back to Hungary from Thailand and they turned their snow white house near the bike road between Balatonfüred and Csopak into a shelter for bikers. If you're lucky enough, you'll find a beach bed with your name on it where you can have a cold fröccs or a glass of lemonade.
Extra romantic factor: If you can't - or you don't want to - continue your bike tour, you can spend the night together in a beach bed or in a tent.

Majthényi Présház – Balatonlelle, Kishegy
The sunset has always been South Shore's business. Only a few chosen insiders know about the peaceful balcony of Majthényi Présház. The well-known wine maker Konyári family runs a restaurant in this press house, which is more than 100 years old. The road leading to this place is already like a big romantic splash, since it is surrounded by poppies, vineyards, wine cellars and a chapel. The menu is traditional, but the result is quite unusual: the roasted meat can't be any better in the fine dining restaurants either. When the sun is setting behind the hills of Badacsony you forget to think about your stomach though.
Extra romantic factor: Even though it is not a wine cellar, thanks to the Konyári family you can taste perfect wines here.

Balatonvilágosi magaspart
The high shore of Balatonvilágos is an inevitable part of this list, because Balaton looks like an endless ocean from here and the sunset is breath taking. The high shore has many benches facing the sunset, so with a bit of luck you'll find a special place with your darling.
Extra romantic factor: Talking all-night long or going for a skinny dipping - in case if you're in the mood to climb down from the high shore.
