This solitary public beach in Balatonmáriafürdő is basically a cul-de-sac (called Őrház street) ending on the shore, and as such it’s not a particularly unique phenomenon around the lake.
The beach has a small sandy area and a long pier; if you’re heading into the water to cool down, these are the best places to try. It’s received a facelift not too long ago, which means new benches, a bathroom, a playground, and a grassy lounging area that’s a bit wider than at most such beaches.
There are two eateries by the entrance serving beach classics like Frankfurters, lángos, hamburgers, and csárda dishes.
Tip: Free parking is available un front of the beach.
