A bicycle pump, a few basic tools, homemade, delicious and fresh artisan ice cream await at Bringatanya in Gyenesdiás. Not far from the Gyenesdiás train station, this Somogy County ice cream kitchen looks like an average confectionery, but it is much more: thematic days, under the codenames “big chocolate” or “retro ice cream weekend”, are regularly organized here. Time your arrival well, and you could also try the ice cream inspired by the cake of Hungary.

There’s no fancy service station on the premises, but there is a place nearby where you can not only sort out your bike, but also rent one if you need. The locals will be more than happy to give you directions, but there are signs which may prove equally helpful. The Balaton Fish and Farmers Market is also a mere stone’s throw away, so even if you are looking for something more substantial to eat, you won’t have to resort to the lángos, hamburger and the like.
