Walking through the 12 stations of Great Egret Study Trail on Diás Island we can learn more about the local flora and fauna through the information signs written both in English and in Hungarian. The stations also explain how the plants overtaking the channels were subdued with the help of water buffaloes, the use of certain fishing equipment and corduroys. Standing before a hut known from a novel by the renowned Hungarian writer, István Fekete, we can read one of his letters on what types of fish he caught on the lake. The study trail is only accessible through guided tours.
