Kalóz has finally conquered the beach of Badacsonytomaj, which means that the reinterpreted beach food creations offered in Fövenyes – such as the the filled, savory pancakes, and Harcsa & Krumpli, the winner of the 2015 Beach Food of the Year distinction – will now be available at a new spot much to the delight of gastro fans all over Balaton.
Chef Bálint Kocsis comes up with something new to the delight of beachgoers every now and then; this year, the big favorite is the Fekete kalóz (“black pirate”) burger: a cheeky sight, it has a black bun and is filled with ribs. They also have exciting cold soups, and simple, homemade meals like székelykáposzta (cabbage stew) – these are best when accompanied by the local wines, artisanal syrups from the Balaton region, as well as a varied selection of beers and pálinkas.
