There is a hidden little village near Lake Balaton in Zala County called Rezi, where a rather ambitious attempt came to life. Retired folks cleaned up the garden of the former parish house where now, thanks to the enthusiastic communal workers, they grow savory vegetables.

These really are amazing vegetables: Paletta purchases its Romaine lettuce from them, and Georgikon experiments with its potato breeds here. They also fixed up the building which is now called the Laky Demeter Tourist House.

They welcome groups and individual hikers as well – up to 30 people – at the tourist house that is along the National Blue Trail, and where you can eat locally produced delicacies.
