Balatonföldvár’s 360-berth marina is the busiest one on the south shore. Opened in 1905, it was expanded in several stages over the next century, and it now awaits sailors with a non-stop marina management service, a guarded parking facility, a crane, a fire ring and a grill. Fast food fans should try the nearby Marina, whereas those looking for a genuine restaurant atmosphere should head to Csigaház.
A special feature of the marina is that it is a pretty difficult one compared to all the others on the south shore: the tall trees provide somewhat of a shelter from the prevalent north-westerly winds, but even so the waves can get a bit rough sometimes. An exceptional, 102-metre reinforced concrete footbridge that is a significant industrial monument is not too far from the western pier just like the sailing-themed playground. Both the Eastern and Western Public Beaches can be found a couple of hundred metres away.
Tip: Although you can't rent boats here, you can do so at the nearby Viharsarok Sailing Center.
