Some people swear by the south shore, while others prefer the north side, but Siófok is an all-time favorite for both kinds of Balaton fans. During the day, you can bask in the sun on the 4-km grassy stretch of shore called Golden Coast Public Beach, which starts at Szabadi-Fürdőtelep and ends almost at the middle of Siófok, or take a walk along the beach toward the boat stop, which looks its best at sunset. After dark, immerse yourself in the vibrant nightlife of the town: walk down Petőfi Promenade to return to Szent István Promenade, and choose from the countless bars, clubs, restaurants and bazaars lining the lakeside walkway.

How to get there: you can reach it through smaller streets and alleys from Beszédes József Promenade and from Szent László Street.
