Set amid lush and tall trees, this Roman Catholic church is located in the charming village of Nagyvázsony. Its predecessor was built in Romanesque style in the 13th century.

It was later revamped with Gothic decorations and additional elements thanks to Pál Kinizsi, who was also responsible for having a castle built nearby. The church was subsequently renovated based on the request of Count János Zichy and his wife Katalin Széchenyi – that is when the Gothic vault and the windows were restored, and the baroque furniture, crafted by the sculptors of the Veszprém Diocese, dates back to this time as well.
