Named after the bird of Hungarian myths, Turul is just a 10-minute drive away from Balatonőszöd – don’t let the name fool you, they don’t tenderize meat under saddles here, instead they are big on sous-vide and sabji. Plus, the restaurant is kind of a side hustle (although its quality says otherwise), as the owner would like to spend more energy on shaking up the local cultural life, maybe even in the shape of a small festival. We can come for dinner, lunch (we can choose from among many traditional Hungarian meals and international courses for a great price after 2:30pm), but it’s best to make a reservation before we arrive.
