Kőris-hegy is on top of Bakony’s highest mountain near Bakonybél, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the wind turbines around Csetény, the Benedictine Abbey of Pannonhalma in the distance, the Balaton – in clear weather, we can even see the Alps.

The pedestal of the Vajda Péter Lookout, built in 1920, is 709 meters above sea level; but in addition, we can walk up another three floors to admire the panorama from even higher. Next to it is the huge white ball of the civilian air surveillance radar station, which most resembles a soccer ball.

Tip: The location can be approached on several hiking trails by foot: from Bakonybél, Odvaskő and Szépalmapuszta as well, although we wouldn’t recommend either route when having a small child with you.
