The terrace of the Csendes Dűlő has always been one of the treasures of Badacsönyörs, but the latest redecoration has taken it to a whole new level. After the opening, the place quickly filled, and will soon be busy with concerts and film screenings.

In typical Csendes Dűlő fashion, the small sign pointing visitors in its direction is simple and full with honest hospitality. A place with such a view doesn’t need too much advertising, either. The new and improved terrace, located slightly below the house that is the heart of Csendes Dűlő, has the same breathtaking view of Badacsony and Balaton as its predecessor.

For terrace opening day, guests arrived in groups, with numbers surely to increase in the coming weeks. There's now a lot more space between the tables, deckchairs and cleverly placed pillows between the rocks. There’s also a reception building with an office, a bar and a couple of tables, so it’s possible to organise tastings and other events inside when the weather is bad.

There are other plans for the building, too. Film screenings have been pencilled in but for now, the focus is on making the new area as homely as possible.

Cold plates will be available on the terrace and they already have made a space for the cauldron which they plan to use during the summer. The bench in front of the house has been earmarked by those looking for a little breathing space away from other guests.

With a guesthouse opening above the terrace this summer, and better parking too, it's clear that Csendes Dűlő will keep developing.

On the down side, you will need to reserve at weekends as Csendes Dűlő is sure to be among the best and most popular terraces at Balaton – with the experience being topped off by the estate’s holy trinity of Kéknyelű, Wielshriesling and Pinot Gris wines.
