The dandelion syrup and the green walnut jelly were just the beginning; yet another witch's brew emerges from the kitchen of Tamás Pince now. The never-seen-before lavender cider will be introduced at Kredenc this afternoon. We talked to Ervin Tamás about it.

'I wanted to make a refreshment for summer evening talks that was somewhat lighter than wine; and I am a great fan of cider' says Ervin Tamás who started experimenting with cider 2 years ago. After the generally used pear and apple, he chose lavender, a hit flavour at Tamás Pince for his experiments--no one heard of such a cider, anyway. Now that the family and friends deemed the drink perfect, the test period is officially over; everyone can taste the new cider at the spontaneous premier at Kredenc this afternoon. Ervin Tamás says that the cider was "bottle safe", i.e. safe to consume for a year, but just to be sure, he always has a bottle in his car and another one in the sun--to test how the products ract to extreme heat, vibration and changes in temperature. The Lavender Cider has a 4.5% alcohol content and is recommended for those who like sparkling wine, but yearn for something lighter and a new flavour. The cider is somewhat dry, fragrant, light and fizzy--the refreshment that comes in 0.75 litre bottles was designed to be drank at a single sitting.
