Tihany and ARTplacc have managed to pull off something that counts as an exceptional achievement here in Hungary: showcasing contemporary artwork in a setting without walls, a stone’s throw away from nature, in an entirely unusual space and context. Coming together on the Balaton shore, contributors to ARTplacc have made an effort to bridge the gap, with hammocks and rows of benches, between contemporary art, often thought of as inaccessible and distant, and those who may find it a little bit hard to take in.
