You can reach the Skrabsky Winery via a picturesque road from Balatonudvardi. You'll not only find renown wines here, but also two excellent guesthouses as well. The woods you have to cross before arriving to the vineyard is a herald of the peace and silence awaiting - only twitter tests your ears here.

Heading towards Vászoly from Balatonudvari, pay close attention about halfway down the road for the sign pointing out the side-road to Skrabski Winery. If you follow the forest road, you'll reach a building that was raised in 1805 but has recently been renovated. The main profile of the place - in addition to quality wine making - is the accommodation of guests yearning to rest in complete silence. The manager, Gábor Sümegi explained that the kestrel was chosen to be on the label of Skrabski wines because back in 2008, at the time of the first harvest, these birds defended the vineyard from 'rival birds.'

'We are working small-scale with the wines - we produce about 16 000 bottles each year, mostly of the grapes from around the wine cellar. We make five types of wine, mostly dry, including Welschriesling, Furmint and Pinot gris. You can buy them here at the cellar, at a price between 1500 and 2500 HUF, otherwise you can meet them in shops from Balatonkenese through Balatonszepezd to Veszprém. We aim to make harmonious and superior wines that are neither too strong nor too high in alcohol. Additives are out of the question,'  Gábor explained the secrets of Skrabski Winery.

On request, you can get a tour of the winery, and if you feel like wine tasting, there's also option for that. If peace and silence  are your primary concerns during a holiday, we could hardly recommend better than the two apartments here. The house above the winery offers comfortable accommodation for 6 at a price of 30 000 HUF/night with an open-plan kitchen, LED TV and wifi included.
