Visitors of TéliKert are about to be thrown headfirst into an orgy of flavours, since the kitchen of the winterized joint of Keszthely's Fröccsterasz opens this Saturday. The bistro-style kitchen débuts with a promising degustation menu on Friday, and a range of alcoholic grape juices, homemade syrups and small producers' fruit ices to wash it down.

With the opening of TéliKert's kitchen near the Helikon Palace Museum in Keszthely, Paletta in Balatonboglár (open also outside sailing season) is no longer your only option to immerse yourself into the flavours of Dani Bezerics's bistro dishes, which are prepared using fresh, high standard ingredients from the Balaton region. On Friday, you can eat and drink your way through the degustation menu (5000 HUF), which was compiled specifically for the opening, starting with a Cserszegi Fűszeres pommace pálinka-based welcome Sparkling Shot.

After the strong start, there is a chance of being overrun by an entire gastronomical avalanche. Pastrami, pho with tenderloin strips, tuna fish pizza "á la Balaton”, and the Paletta Burger that has won even the hearts of hamburger connoisseurs. To end the row of "mini" appetizers, a Riesling Giga Macaron attacks hand in hand with Lady Lavender, the love child of the fröccs and the lavender syrup. In case anyone's stomach growls later, the green herb steak tartare with vodka and cucumber will surely be a perfect finishing touch.

The future falls into stride: the kitchen will serve fresh, creative, new wave dishes each week, in harmony with the permanent menu, which also includes the dishes known from the degustation menu. The day's specials will include soups (800 HUF), main courses (1500-3500 HUF), and various spreads (690 HUF), but the standard dishes (starters: 500-1800 HUF, salads: 1200-1500 HUF, pizzas 1300-1900 HUF, burgers 1250-2000 HUF) won't be served from the microwave either. The daiyl changing, season's desserts (650 HUF) will be provided by the same cake fanatic who serves Paletta. The wine selection (300-1100 HUF/dl), and the producers' fruit juicesand syrups are also products of the Balaton region.

There is also a kids' special (990 HUF) and in spite of all the meat dishes, vegans won't be left high and dry either. The SajtPaletta's (1790 HUF) producers' cheese selection, for instance, will take you as deep into the world of flavours as Jean Reno dived in The Big Blue.

The companions of dogs will soon be able to order the gap-filling novelty by Dani Bezerics, the Bezerics dog buscuit for their four-legged friends. The fresh, obstacle-free Télikert will not only be your go-to dinner spot, but it might easily become your favourite party venue, with live jazz on Fridays and funky from vinyl on Saturdays.
