A trilingual programme guide focusing on the venues and events of the north shore, as well as introducing the Balaton Uplands from Sármellék to Papkeszi will be out on 10 June. Csilla Fehér talked to us about the idea, the reaction of mayors, and the number of folders needed to fit the region in. Balaton Uplands for You.

Last time we met, Csilla Fehér explained how her map showed the tiniest details of the Káli Basin. Since, the map has seen a second edition and its own app. Now we met Csilla for an entirely different reason: she wants to publish a programme magazine for the Balaton Uplands from 10 June, encompassing everyone and everything.

The idea was conceived in the non-ruin pub of the Káli Basin, Káli-kapocs: 'I was craving to listen to live music, preferably at once, but I didn't know a thing about nearby events. I wanted to change that.' The next step was quite straightforward: Csilla set out to contact all the local governments and mayors from Sármellék through Köveskál to Papkeszi - and all received the idea favourably.

They even went as far as chipping in for the shared goal, 'There were mayors already anticipating our arrival, since he heard about our quest in the next village. It was great to meet them all; we even asked one to think about replacing he Mary statuette that had been stolen from the village two before.'

In addition to local governments, advertisers also helped making the magazine free. The first issue will be printed in 30 000 copies. There could be even more prints of the following issue, due in August, depending on the contribution to the printing costs made by the spots included.

Balaton Felvidék Neked/Balaton Uplands For You will look something like this: there will be a usual accommodation and restaurants section for each settlement, which will include local producers and artisans as well, with address and key information. This way, you'll have the guest house (for staying), the lángos spot (for eating), the winery (where you can make friends with the vintner) and the restaurant (to eat and drink before a concert) on the same page in front of you.

The question just asks itself: how huge a dossier is needed to hold the entire event list for 70 settlements, while the places of hospitality also appear with address and description, just like rétes and scones festivals. Csilla explains, 'It was hell of a job to compile it, but our data base will be exhaustive.' She couldn't have done it all alone: she found a graphic designer who doesn't disappear for days without a word (Gergő Hidegföldi), she visited the local governments together with Heléna Szekeres (ex-PestiEst), while Szabina Lukácsi has helped relieve her of being on the phone all-day-long.
