One of the most beautiful views of the north shore is from the Millennium Lookout Tower on Fülöp-hegy, just above Révfülöp. This captivating vista inspired many writers even before the tower was built in 2001.

Famous Balaton geographer Jenő Cholnoky once wrote that: “One of the most beautiful landscapes of the world can be seen from Fülöp-hegy in Révfülöp. There are higher hills, larger bodies of water, but the only other place where many wonderful volcanic cones meet with a broad surface of water is probably on the shores of Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro”.

The view is even more breathtaking from the Millennium Lookout Tower that was built in 2001.

Designed by architect Gyula Pelényi, the structure looks like an old watchtower and has a 360-degree panorama. You can visit it for free all year round.

To reach it, turn off Road 71 towards Kővágóörs, then follow Petőfi út and Kilátó út. You can reach it on foot, too: it’s an hour's signposted walk from the centre of Révfülöp.
