Csobánc is a paradise for paragliders, but the view is worth the climb even if you don’t fancy taking flight.
Csobánc is an isolated hill in Tapolcai-medence. The ruins of its former castle sit atop the 376-metre summit – you can see the entire Balaton Uplands from there. Vineyards run around the side of the hill. Today, it’s mostly a destination for paragliders and those looking for a challenging hike.
The trail up is only 4.5 kilometres but there’s quite a steep gradient. Still, it only takes a few hours to get there and back, and the view along the way is beautiful.
To reach it, you have to walk from the direction of Gyulakeszi or Diszel. Just follow the hiking trail marked with green signs.
