With its rare natural formations and unique atmosphere, Szent György-hegy is a popular climb in the Balaton Uplands.

A four-kilometre trail leads to the top of the 415-metre-high Szent György-hegy. Here you can see rare plants and unique buildings such as an abandoned chapel that used to be a press house. Its most famous sight is the basalt organs that reach up to the sky from the hillside.

From the top, you can see from Keszthelyi-hegység to Somogy County and there are plenty of shaded nooks that are perfect for a picnic. The nearby lion-head fountain has fresh water that’s safe to drink.  

To reach the top, follow the study trail marked with a blue triangle that starts at the car park on the hill’s western side.
