Rising above the shoreline of Balatonlelle, the hill of Kishegy is surrounded by great wineries.

The 300-metre-high hill of Kishegy stands three kilometres from Balatonlelle and is also part of the Wine Route of south Balaton. If you follow the yellow signs, you will come to Garamvári Vineyard, the Pócz and Konyári cellarsHegyi Csárda and Konyári Guesthouse, while at the hilltop, you can take a break at Majthényi Press House next to Szent Donát Chapel. There’s only one mass in the chapel every year, on the day of Saint Donatus of Arezzo, its eponymous saint. It’s a wonderful sight from the outside, too.

The other popular sight around Kishegy is Parkerdő, a forest which stretches as far as the city of Pécs if you follow its tranquil trail.

To reach the forest, follow the trail that starts from the old draw well in Balatonlelle. A train leaves from the Bahart Marina to take visitors up to the press house. You can also drive up the same route.
