This year, the Red Bull Air Race has relocated from Budapest to Zamárdi. This means that this weekend, July 13 and 14, holidaymakers and daytrippers can watch the world’s best pilots from the shoreline – or even while in the lake itself.

While this two-day event is not only spectacular but free to watch, there's a whole lot going on around it, tooThe bicycle team of Gravity Academy Trial, parkour Péter Horgas, Freestyle Foci football, as well as a break show by B-girl and B-boy can all be enjoyed on the shore on Saturday and Sunday, not to mention the DJ battles taking place on both days. Meanwhile, children can have fun on the bouncy castle.

Gaming tents will be set up with simulators, game consoles and retro computers, while if you enjoy football, you can play FIFA with others on a giant LED wall.

Aerobatic pilot champion Péter Besenyei, the godfather of the event, will have his own show, while Red Bull's historic fleet will be presenting flying demonstrations over the lake.

Special activities take place in the water, too: you can join Hungarian celebrities and athletes on SUP boards and participate in guided tours on both Saturday and Sunday. You can either bring your own board or rent one. Wakeboard world champion Szebasztián Szóláth’s show will be one of the most thrilling events.

The main attraction of the weekend is, of course, the Red Bull Air Race itself. This is the third of the season and the qualifying rounds will be held on Saturday, the finals on Sunday. Japanese pilot Joshide Muroja is currently in first place, with Czech defending champion Martin Sonka in second, so the race promises to be exciting. Click here for more information.
