Featuring star Hungarian names over seven days in three locations, VeszprémFest 2021 should more than make up for the disappointment of the cancellation of this popular event in 2020. Opera singer Erika Miklósa, singer/actress Kátya Tompos and jazz pianist Béla Szakcsi Lakatos all appear on the bill between 12-18 July next summer.

As already announced, Jazz + Az, Postmodern Jukebox and Juan Diego Flórez are due to perform in 2021, as tickets for the 2020 event are automatically valid for the 2021 festival. These global stars of jazz, pop and world music will perform on the big stages set up in the História Garden and the Castle, while the top names in Hungarian music play at the Romkert of the Jesuit Church Garden.

On 16 July, award-winning Erika Miklósa and János Balázs give a concert entitled ZongOpera. The artists found a common voice on stage together three years ago, in a combination unique to both the opera genre and the piano canon, a marriage of Mozart, Verdi, Liszt and György Cziffra.

On 17 July, Béla Szakcsi Lakatos takes the stage as part of the Paganini+ programme, alongside János Balázs and József Lendvay, among the acts at the first festival in 2004. Balázs is down to play Liszt études, Lakatos will improvise while Lendvay excels in Paganini's original compositions. Paganini’s masterpieces can be listened to in their centuries-old original form.

The closing romantic chords of VeszprémFest Classic come from Kátya Tompos and János Balázs Cziffra Café on 18 July.
