In a positive sign of the summer to come, organisers have already booked the location for popular music festival Balaton Sound, with a time slot pencilled in for the end of June or first week of July. The local council at Zamárdi has since insisted on all visitors being able to produce Covid vaccination certificates, as and when they are produced. Meanwhile in August, the Strand Festival is still hoping to go ahead, with star names Ellie Goulding and SUM41 lined up to appear after the enforced postponements of 2020. If the pandemic situation is still with us, then everything will be carried over to 2022.
Moves are already afoot for two major music events, Balaton Sound and the Strand Festival, to be staged this summer.
Sites have been secured, with more concrete plans to be announced in the near future. Ellie Goulding, whose video for her award-winning song Close to Me was filmed in Budapest, is among the artists still scheduled to appear.
