Balaton Day is held for the very first time this year, with the hope of creating a traditional Balaton celebration for everyone. The launch is hosted by Badacsony, but the honour will be passed on to a different settlement every year.
The high season will be officially opened at 4 PM on 6 June in several towns around Lake Balaton. The Balatoni Kör launched an initiative for free entry to the Balaton beaches and programmes in the participating settlemetns.
This year, the focus is on Badacsony. The beach season will be officially opened with pushing the lifeguards symbolically into the water. Afterwards, you can enjoy a beach picnic with the novelties of the beach food revolution, like Basalt Burger, Balcsi Bagel and the Waterdog (hot dog with fish sausage). As a special treat, the Bergmann confectionery will bring icecream made of Balaton wines. In addition to the awards ceremony of the Balaton Fish Soup recipe contest, you can enjoy beach handball and water sports. After the picnic, you are encouraged to visit Kishableány, the Borműhely or Bonvino, to have a taste of Badacsony hospitality.
