These new food outlets near the shore of Lake Balaton offer summer eats for the whole family.
Füstölgő Marha, Keszthely (Closed)
Further from the shore, the owners of this eatery have brought Asian street food to Keszthely. Inspired by their travels around the Far East, the menu consists of Thai curry, ramen and even sushi. With the aim of being open all year round, you can expect to see even more exotic foods in the autumn. Their burgers are also great, with grey cattle, Angus beef, lamb, buffalo and duck liver patties to choose from.
Why?
The selection is varied, including burgers with gluten-free buns, while the dishes are spiced with the chef’s own chili sauces.

Opened in May by a couple well versed in the international hospitality industry, this eatery offers classic Balaton beach food such as hake or pancakes as well as bistro-style dishes, including BBQ ribs, grilled cheese, and Tex-Mex salads. The selection also includes daily and weekly suggestions.
Why?
The burger buns are homemade and there’s an abundance of condiments and dressings to choose from.

Tucked away in an inner courtyard of Keszthely amid traditional buffets and restaurants, this eatery also offers the typical beach eats while providing a selection of lighter dishes. Here you can have fish and chips, lettuce filled with sour cream mousse, three types of burger and summer vegetable stew, available as a vegetarian version or ordered with frittata or sausages.
Why?
Most of the traditional Hungarian dishes are served with a street-food twist, resulting in great flavours.

Tihany Beach food trucks
The renewed beach at Tihany has an ever-changing culinary selection. The food trucks serve sausage dogs, sausage burgers and classic burgers, as well as great lángos, chimney cake, smoked meats and pulled pork sandwiches, grill dogs, waffles and churros.
