The name Csicsergő (meaning “chirping” in Hungarian) itself suggests a kind of idyllic atmosphere, and when you visit this charming Balatonberény beach with its reed beds and tiny islands, you’ll see that the name is very suitable indeed. This 2-kilometer stretch of shore is adorned with natural groves, reefs, and sandy bays, and is perfect for either splashing about or going for a romantic stroll along the water’s edge.
As this is a public beach, there’s no admission charge, and surprisingly enough, crowds are quite rare, too. Parking is free, and you don’t have to pay for using the bathrooms either. The small piers make it very easy and safe to get in the water. The beach is ideal for sports and fishing fans as well. Does this all sound too good to be true? Not at all.
