This spacious park, found only seconds away from the heart hospital, is often referred to as ‘Balatonfüred’s lungs’. This park would even live up to Budapest standards, not only because it is truly large, but also because of the densely planted trees providing shady shelters, because it is nicely renovated, and it has a playground and a fitness park. They kept the ruins of the onetime theater, and revamped it with laid-back hangouts, chess tables, water blocks, and they also kept the neighboring tennis courts.

The park is 200 years old; it was built as an ‘English garden’ in 1790. In the Reform Age it was an open salon, where reformers and writers gathered to chat about all kinds of issues. Today, the area is under protection.
