Medieval church ruins await visitors on three sites in Dörgicse: in Alsódörgicse, Felsődörgicse and Kisdörgicse. The oldest one was built on Roman era ruins in the 11th century, and was the burial site for a clan involved in the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin.
The other two were built in the 12th century; one of them was destroyed during the Turkish occupation, whereas the other burned down in the 1600s. A rest stop has been created near the ruins to accommodate hikers with the aim of enhancing the site’s touristic appeal.
