A dream came true for Dr. Ildikó Demján when she planted the first lavender bushes on the slopes of Dörgicse in 2003. It was the beginning of what is now known as Levendula Major.

Thirty different varieties of lavender bloom here every year, along with roses, figs, pomegranate, sage, mint and lemon balm, just to mention a few of the various herbs that are later turned into essential oils in the Levendarium’s distillery.

The scent of the plants relaxes bees and visiting humans alike. Visitors can also enjoy a glass of lavender cordial in the shade of the nearby church ruins. Gatherings, yoga, chikung and bodybalance classes are held here regularly in autumn and winter.
