The figures of Imre Veszprémi’s group of statues, made from steel pipes and limestone, stand on the shore of Kornyi Lake next to Kővágóörs.

The humanlike, 2-3 metres tall figures look like post-apocalyptic watchmen, keeping an eye on Káli Basin from the top of the hill.

The area of Kornyi Lake inspired director Miklós Jancsó too, and he featured this group of statues in his films on multiple occasions.

Tip: We recommend the Theodora Study Trail for those who would like to discover the area by foot, as it starts from Kékkút and leads through the entire Káli Basin.
