Upon stepping into Imre Kálmán Memorial House it all feels like a different world. The peculiar atmosphere is caused not only by the antique furniture and the exhibit-like nature of the place, but it’s also due the fact that the composer-virtuoso, who was a true rockstar personality of his era, lived among these walls.
Together with Andor Gábor, they enchanted a whole world with the music of The Riviera Girl and Countess Maritza. And even though the noise of minimal techno coming from the Palace of Siófok seems to outvoice the bouncy hongroise, deep down in our hearts we all say that "Let's go to Varasdin…"
