Master confectioner Lajos Márton, the owner of Balatonlelle’s Márton Confectionery, has made confections for almost 50 years from home-made cream, organic fruit from the garden and the combination of eggs and butter. The sweet arsenal consists of creations like Mozartkugel ice cream, millet flavoured wedding cake, Rákóczi cottage cheese cake and more – high quality is guaranteed by the fact that Mr Márton is a member of the Order of Confectioners. It’s not rare that old ladies come in to take away four or five slices of each cake, and that the queue of those waiting for ice cream starts snaking around the room. The interior feels a bit like you’ve travelled back in time, and a few years ago they added a terrace next to the free car park, and they installed free Wi-Fi too.
