Rózsakő is one of the most romantic spots around Lake Balaton. It is a basalt stone located above the Kisfaludy House in Badacsony. It was named after Róza Szegedy who, according to the local rumors, used to sit here with her poet husband, Sándor Kisfaludy

Their story could be the source of the myth claiming that if a couple sits on the stone holding hands, with their backs to Lake Balaton, they will get engaged in that exact year; others believe that if a girl sits with her back on the lake and gives a sigh while thinking of her lover, she makes the heart of the one in her thoughts beat for her.

Tip: You can park a little further down if you arrive by car.
