The exotic sounding name Sabar comes from the name of a hill − perhaps one of the smallest on the Balaton Uplands − located near Káptalantóti, on the edge of the Káli Basin. This is where economist Gábor Ádám established his own artisan wine house in 2009 with the aim of making exceptional wines, building a local community, and spreading the good reputation of the Badacsony wine region.

The area of the vineyards they own has expanded over time. Their whites, reds, and rosés, which are grown on a total of seven hectares, can be sampled on the terrace of the cellar, or at the Sabar Vinoteca in Káptalantóti.
