Szőlősi Kocsma is a good example that it’s possible to open such a new hospitality unit around Lake Balaton that will please the locals, too. The premises on Fő utca in Balatonszőlős were closed for years, then the owner of Bortársaság, Attila Tálos bought it, refurbished it, and gave it back to the community.

You can mingle with the locals at the tables, while sipping on the wines of Gellavilla, or eating Katika’s stuffed peppers, which is a reason for pilgrimage for many people.

There is no extravagance here, no fancy interiors: the pub doesn’t want to be a bistro, which is shown in the fact that once they run out of food, you are left with nuts. And with the good vibe, and that in itself is a good reason to drop by – even the children have their own table here.
