Trained in the German hospitality trade, the owner of Tündérkert set himself quite the task when he opened a breakfast place on the Tihany high street this summer. What is more, this is a place open all year: avocado cream, homemade zacuscă, seasonal fruit platters, homemade cheeses, traditional and lactose-free cakes are served in the small fairy tale garden of an old detached house. Unique Tündérsziget jams, such as the one with lavender and apricot, can be bought at various farmers’ markets from Piac Placc in Tihany to the Káptalantóti market.

From early spring until late autumn it is worth sitting outside by the heaters, enjoying the view of Tihany’s Belső-tó or the shade of the walnut tree as you sip on your morning coffee. A complex playing castle has been set up in the yard to ensure a relaxed breakfast experience for the little ones as well. The streetfront part of the house is home to a small shop selling artisan clothes.
