New Year's DIP, Szigliget
Trying to survive the hangover of the New Year's Eve party is one way to spend 1 January, but we know an even more demanding one! The New Year's Dip will be held for the third time at the Szigliget beach. This means people will bathe in the lake, snow or ice. The organizers are professionals: the courageous beach-goers will be awaited with a preliminary medical check and get hot food and drinks afterwards. The concert of Cimbaliband will help them prepare mentally for the icy task ahead and also assist them in forgetting it if need be, afterwards.
New Year's Eve regatta, Balatonlelle
There are more cats in the bag at Balaton, not only the aforementioned dipping in January. The New Year's Eve Regatta organized by BL Bavaria Yachtclub (Balatonlelle) will be held for the first time ever. The participants include the globesailing star Áron Méder and other acclaimed sailers as well. The registration fees of the 1st New Year's Eve Porsche M5 Audi Regatta will go to the Water Rescue Services of Hungary so you would not drown in the summer. You can participate without any preliminary knowledge of sailing. The accompanying programmes at the Bavaria Yachtclub include pig slaughtering, squach competition, music, dance, and so on.
Carbonfools New Year's Eve, Veszprém
The Expresszó Club that has been welcoming the cream of Hungarian pop to Veszprém prepares for New Year's Eve with a bang. The spark will be provided by none other but the Carbonfools, who will not only give a concert but party on spot. Join them on new Year's Eve!
New Year's Eve programmes, Balatonfüred
As we reported, one can spend several winter days inBalatonfüred. This will not change at the end of the year: on 30 December, there will be a "mulled wine beach party" in front of the Vitorlás Restaurant with mulled wine making competition and brass band. Those who are cold might drop by the neaqrby Vaszary Villa to see a performance of Mark Twain's The Diaries of Adam and Eve. On New Year's Eve, an eating-drinking-partying session entitled 'New Year's Special' awaits you at Kredenc Wine Bistro with the efficient participation of DJ Műsorváltozás among others.
BUÉK Film, anywhere at balaton
We recommend this at every programme, whether at Balaton or elsewhere, while spraying champagne or going for a dip or celebrating New Year's Eve in any other way. 'BUÉK' will be Hungary's first "community film": the creators await video footages of New Year's parties taken with mobiles, GoPro or any other method. They will use these to create a picture of Hungary at the end of 2013. To participate, simply have fun, 'shoot' and send your video to the creators.
