Over the past few days several new acts have joined the line-up of MasterCard Balaton Sound, including minimal techno artist Richie Hawtin, hitmaker Martin Solveig, powerhouse Rita Ora, the increasingly popular DVBBS, the energetic Blasterjaxx and Deep Dish, back after an eight-year hiatus.

A colourful palette of international stars, complemented by Hungarian artists, such as Irie Maffia, The Carbonfools, Punnany Massif and Brains, will hit the stage at Sound, taking place between 10-13 July in Zamárdi, as always.

The gig of Deep Dish, reunited after taking an eight-year break, is definitely shaping up to be on of the events generating the biggest hype this year. Ali “Dubfire” Shirazinia és Sharam Tayebi, the Iranian-American DJ-producer duo renowned for their imaginative, eclectic and progressive house music as well as their remixes of tracks by world-famous performers, came under the spotlight in the mid-1990s, becoming cultic representatives of their genre by the early 2000s. Following the recent release of their new single Quincy, in July they will make an appearance at MasterCard Balaton Sound on their 15-stop world tour.

Richie Hawtin is one of the most prominent figures of modern e-music, a minimal techno artist who has inspired generations of electronic musicians with his innovative body of work. His unique style draws from the classics of electronica as well as from the traditional beats of the Detroit techno community, and his clean sets, comprising his own mix series as well as material from his one of a kind albums, attract huge crowds all over the world.

Martin Solveig, the eccentric French electronic hitmaker, DJ and producer, whose light, pop-inspired house tracks will appeal to anyone between the ages of 0 and 99, will do anything behind the mixer to sweep his audience away. Refusing to budge from the top 100 list of DJ Mag, he has created four studio albums, selling millions of copies. A well-known fan of Balaton Sound, Solveig is the writer behind Hello, one of the most popular party anthems lately.

Charismatic, powerful and blessed with magical artistic capabilities, Rita Ora is one of the most exciting aspiring pop stars, who pulls off mainstream electronica and smooth RnB equally well.

DVBBS (pronounced “dubs”), comprising the twentysomething brothers Alex and Chris Andre, has seen resounding success recently. The young titans have stood up to the challenge at the most famous international festivals, and Tsunami, their most well known hit, has tens of millions of views on YouTube. The booming sounds produced by DVBBS have such force and ruthless intensity that they put the most powerful speakers to the test.

The music of Blasterjaxx, the joint project of the ambitious, young and talented Dutch DJ-producer duo Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf, incorporates elements of electro, big room and progressive house, creating a dynamic, modern and monumental sound. Due to the fact that their popularity keeps on growing with every new release, they are connected with the cream of their profession, and are regular performers at the biggest events, such as MasterCard Balaton Sound.
