The Echo Residence Hotel can accommodate a total of about 90 guests at a time. Accompanying this relatively concrete number is a more hybrid categorization, as there are no stars adorning the hotel façade, and the suites are not equipped with the kitchen facilities usually found in apartments either. What’s given is the breath-taking panorama and the energies of Tihany, which many claim you only need to immerse yourself in for a couple of hours in order to feel totally relaxed. The size and comfortable design of the suites as well as their child friendly layout are also worth pointing out.
Apart from families, this is the ideal place to stay and relax for artists who prefer each (time of) day to be distinctly different when it comes to busyness. The centre of Tihany is only a few minutes away by car, but if you feel like a less bustling vibe, you can chill out with nothing more than a bit of soft music penetrating your personal bubble.
The suites have one or two bedrooms and a living room each with a floor area guaranteeing comfort and intimacy at the same time.
Over the wintertime developments were made to the wellness department, which were much needed, as it is almost a basic requirement for premium Balaton hotels to constantly stay abreast of new trends in this regard. A few months ago the repertoire was expanded by adding a Finnish sauna with a light therapy system, a hot tub and a swimming pool. Culture events are also regularly organized at Echo Residence, and there is no shortage of anecdotes about the legends of Tihany or information on active recreation either.

“If I decided to introduce a menu, I would have to make everything available all the time, and I prefer fresh dishes,” says the manager of the restaurant. “I have no interest in collecting museum pieces into a booklet,” he adds with a smile. On the day of our visit the selection included smoked goose breast with white chocolate-covered prunes, cold strawberry soup, rich guineafowl soup and goulash.
What is on offer is exclusively determined by seasonality, but favourites like mangalitza tenderloin and quark cheese dumplings are almost always available.
There are plans for live music accompaniment by Gábor Füzi five days a week in high season to go with the dishes that are prepared from locally produced ingredients with modern technology. We can also assure you that you won’t have to go anywhere for a few surprises if you choose Echo Residence.
