Wines, concerts, a street-organ festival, dixie and bream – these are the new items on the NagyonBalaton palette. Visitors can enjoy a wide array of gastronomic and musical events at four additional locations, in Balatonfüred, Balatonfenyves, Keszthely and Gyenesdiás.

Balatonpark

27 June – 22 August
Balatonfenyves

The Balaton shore will be the location of large-scale musical and theatre performances every night for almost a month. The crème of the Hungarian music scene will take the stage in Balatonfenyves: to name but a few, Magna Cum Laude, Charlie, Anna and the Barbies, Zorán and Vad Fruttik will entertain visitors. Organizers will also have in store such theatrical hits as Képzelt riport egy amerikai popfesztiválról (An imaginary report of an American pop festival) or Jesus Christ Superstar. Most of the performances will be unique, as they will be tailored to the location, so do not miss your only chance to see them.

Dixie Olympics and Bream Festival

4-6 July
Gyenesdiás

The first weekend in July will see the battle of Dixieland bands in Gyenesdiás. Molnár Dixieland Band and Happy Dixieland Band will headline the event, but amateur bands, solo and vocal artists are also welcome to enter. Bream will also serve as a main theme: baked bream will be on offer all weekend, and on Sunday the festival will culminate in a fish soup cooking competition.

VinCe Balaton

10-13 July
Balatonfüred

VinCe Balaton is the accompanying lakeside event to Kékszalag (Blue Ribbon), the biggest yacht race around Lake Balaton. Visitors and contestants are welcome to taste the best Hungarian wines and check out the gastronomic exhibitions and free concerts on the Tagore sétány (Tagore Promenade) in Balatonfüred. Kerekes Band, Pannonia All Stars Ska Orchestra and Rájátszás will be among the performers, but football fans will not be left out either: they can enjoy the games of the World Cup on a screen set up for the occasion.

International Street-organ Festival
