In cooperation with ARTplacc Contemporary Art Festival, Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design will hold an art workshop between 14 and 18 July for youngsters living in Tihany, Balatonfüred and the surrounding villages.

The aim of the event called MOMEplaccs is to provide local school kids with quality activity options for the summer holidays as well as to educate the future generation about artistic values and creative thinking. At the five-day workshop the children will have the chance to take part in three events: “Garda flying” will be all about making paper kites, “Enchanted Tihany” will take participants on a special trip around the town and “With your own eyes” will be an introduction into photography. The workshop will take place in several townships in the area and in local schools. Admission for children is free of charge.

The mentality of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) is rooted in more than 130 years of tradition, being also influenced by a drive for renewal and an attitude of being open to the world. MOME is not only a university, but also a platform for intellectual discussion, where education and creation as well as applied and autonomous forms of artistic expression form an inseparable unity. In 2013 MOME became one of the most important establishments on the European art and design scene after Domus magazine included it on its list of the top 100 art and design universities in Europe.
